For example, if you are hosting a large backyard barbecue, how would friends and family fill their plates, get drinks and sit down to eat? What would be the path they take? Maybe having a bar to set food and drinks on would minimize congestion and limit spills.

What about a birthday party? Is there a place for everyone to gather to sing ‘Happy Birthday’ and grab a piece of cake? Incorporating a large dining space could build upon the outdoor experience when hosting special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries or retirement parties.

Take some time to pick furniture, tables and accessories within the color palette of your landscaping. It will compliment your home’s outdoor design and feel cohesive when company arrives.
