Choose your planting location & determine the proper depth for your container tree

Before you even take your tree out of the container, you need to have your location carefully picked out. Depending on how large the tree will grow and the sunlight conditions it requires, your tree may grow more successfully in one area than another. When your tree is even, use a shovel to backfill soil in the gaps and water thoroughly halfway through the process. You can prevent water from running off by building a small ring of soil three feet from the trunk.
